The Core Products BowTie® Cervical Support Pillow FIB-210 is a full-size, fiber-filled sleeping pillow designed for people who want cervical support without a complicated sizing system, interchangeable inserts or molded-foam firmness choices.

Its distinctive bow-shaped profile creates a lower center area for back sleeping and wider side “wings” for side sleeping. The soft polyester fiber fill gives the BowTie a more traditional filled-pillow feel than our molded or precision-cut foam cervical pillows.

What Makes the BowTie Different?

The BowTie's main advantage is not adjustability. It is a simple two-position shape in a conventional fiber-filled construction.

Design feature What it means for the buyer
Fiber fill Softer, more compressible feel than defined molded foam
Bow-shaped profile Different support areas for back and side sleeping
Center position Used beneath the neck for back sleeping
Side wings Used when sleeping on the right or left side
One overall size No Petite/Midsize/ Full sizing decision
No removable support inserts Nothing inside the pillow needs to be swapped or configured
Standard-pillow dimensions Functions more like a primary bed pillow than a compact travel support

A Fiber Cervical Pillow Without a Complex Fit System

Many cervical pillows require several decisions before or after purchase.

The BowTie does not.

There is no

  • Firm-versus-Gentle selector

  • Petite/Midsize/Full sizing system

  • Interchangeable foam core

  • Larger-versus-smaller cervical roll

  • Shoulder-width measurement

  • Water or air adjustment

That makes it a useful starting point when the preference is fiber fill and a simple back/side sleeping layout, rather than maximum adjustability.

For shoppers who specifically want more sizing or firmness choices, compare the Tri-Core Cervical Support Pillow or Double Core Select Adjustable Cervical Pillow.

BowTie vs. Other Cervical Pillows

Our cervical pillows solve different fit problems. The most useful comparison is how the pillow creates support, not which one has the longest feature list.

Balego pillow Construction Adjustment method Sleep positions Best reason to choose
BowTie Cervical Support Pillow Polyester fiber One fixed bow-shaped profile Back + side You want the simplest full-size fiber option
Tri-Core Cervical Support Pillow Polyester fiber 3 sizes + Firm/Gentle + 2 neck rolls Back + side You want fiber fill with substantially more fitting choice
Basic Support Foam Cervical Pillow Polyurethane foam Firm/Gentle + 2 cervical lobes Primarily back You want a defined foam contour and simple firmness selection
Double Core Select Polyurethane foam 4 interchangeable firmness inserts + 2 lobes Primarily back You want support firmness to remain adjustable after purchase
Therapeutica Cervical Pillow Molded foam Anatomical size + firmness Back + side You want measured fitting and dedicated sleeping zones

BowTie vs. Tri-Core Cervical Support Pillow

These are the closest to our comparison because both are fiber-filled cervical pillows for back and side sleeping.

Feature BowTie Tri-Core Cervical Support Pillow
Main material Polyester fiber Polyester fiber
Overall sizes 1 Full, Midsize, Petite
Firmness selection No Firm or Gentle on selected sizes
Back-sleep design Center neck-support area Recessed center + 2 cervical rolls
Side-sleep design Right/left wings Raised outer sleeping areas
Overall dimensions 24" × 16" × 6" Varies by selected size
Main reason to choose Simpler purchasing and positioning More control over overall size and support profile

The decision is therefore less about fiber versus foam and more about simple versus adjustable.

Choose the BowTie when one uncomplicated fiber-filled design is the preference.

Choose the Tri-Core when overall pillow size, firmness, and cervical-roll height need to be separate choices.

BowTie vs. Basic Support Foam Pillow

The Basic Support Foam Cervical Pillow is a useful comparison when the real decision is fiber versus foam.

Feature BowTie Basic Support Foam
Material Polyester fiber Precision-cut polyurethane foam
Primary positions Back + side Primarily back
Firmness choice No Firm or Gentle
Support geometry Bow-shaped center and side wings Two fixed cervical lobes
Overall dimensions 24" × 16" × 6" 22" × 14.5" × 4.625"
Feel Compressible filled-pillow construction Defined foam contour
Best fit Wants a traditional fiber feel Wants a more structured foam profile

Choose the BowTie when fiber fill and side-sleeping capability are important.

Choose the Basic Support Pillow when a more defined foam contour and selectable firmness are more important.

BowTie vs. Therapeutica

The Therapeutica Orthopedic Cervical Pillow sits at the opposite end of our fit spectrum.

The BowTie has one overall configuration.

Therapeutica uses multiple anatomical sizes, separate back- and side-sleeping surfaces, and two firmness choices.

BowTie Therapeutica
Construction Fiber fill Molded foam
Size measurement required No Yes
Separate firmness choices No Original Firm or Lite
Dedicated back/side areas Simple center + wings Specialized molded zones
Main purchasing advantage Simplicity More individualized fit

Choose BowTie when you do not want to measure for pillow size or configure a specialized foam system.

Choose Therapeutica when anatomical sizing is central to the purchase.

How to Position the BowTie Pillow

For back sleeping

Rest the neck over the center portion of the pillow.

For side sleeping

Move onto the right or left wing, depending on the side being used.

Core Products specifically describes the BowTie as intended for both back and side sleepers and uses the side bows as the side-sleeping support areas. (Core Products International, Inc.)

Does the BowTie Need a special pillowcase?

No, the BowTie fits inside a standard-size pillowcase, despite its distinctive contoured shape.

Materials and Care

The BowTie uses a 50% polyester / 50% cotton shell filled with 100% virgin polyester fiber. It is listed as 100% latex-free and made in the USA.

Core Products' current care instructions specify the following:

  • Hand wash cold

  • Use mild soap

  • Do not use chlorine additives

  • Dry flat

The pillow does not have a removable built-in cover, but it can be used inside a standard pillowcase.

What to Expect After Unpacking

the BowTie Pillow for shipping. The manufacturer states that it may take approximately 5–7 days to fully regain its intended shape and performance after being removed from compressed packaging.

That is useful information to include on the Balego page because a newly opened fiber pillow may initially look flatter than expected.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the BowTie Pillow made from memory foam?

No. The BowTie uses 100% virgin polyester fiberfill.

If you prefer a defined foam contour, compare our Basic Support Foam Cervical Pillow, Double Core Select, or Therapeutica Cervical Pillow.

Is the BowTie Pillow for back sleepers or side sleepers?

Both. For back sleeping, the neck rests over the center. For side sleeping, the user is on the right or left wing.

Is there a firm or gentle version?

No. FIB-210 is offered as one basic BowTie configuration.

If selectable fiber firmness is important, compare the Tri-Core Cervical Support Pillow, which we offer in Firm and Gentle configurations on selected sizes.

What size is the BowTie pillow?

It measures approximately 24 × 16 × 6 inches and weighs about 2.1 pounds.

Does it fit a standard pillowcase?

Yes. The BowTie can be used with a standard-size pillowcase.

Is it latex-free?

Yes, the BowTie Pillow is 100% latex-free.

Is a cervical support pillow the same thing as cervical traction?

No. A sleeping pillow passively supports the head and neck; it does not apply controlled traction force.

If a clinician has prescribed actual cervical traction, see the Saunders Cervical Home Traction Device and our separate Saunders Cervical Traction Setup, Angles & Safety Guide. That equipment has a completely different purpose and should not be treated as interchangeable with a sleeping pillow.

Which Cervical Pillow Should You Start With?

If your priority is… Start with…

Fiber fill with size and firmness choices Tri-Core Cervical Support Pillow
Simple foam support primarily for back sleeping Basic Support Foam Cervical Pillow
Adjustable foam firmness after purchase Double Core Select

The BowTie's clearest place in our pillow assortment is simple, full-size fiber cervical support for people who alternate between back and side sleeping without wanting to configure a more complex orthopedic pillow.

George ★★★★★

After trying countless pillows that flatten overnight, this fiber-filled one keeps its shape and my neck aligned from the first night. I love that there are no complicated sizing charts, just a simple design that works for both back and side sleeping.

Avery X. ★★★★★

Finally, a pillow that doesn't require a PhD to figure out sizing. My neck pain is gone since I switched to this fiber-filled bowtie shape, and I love how it supports me when I'm on my side.

Joseph ★★★★★

I was worried the bowtie shape would feel weird, but the dip in the middle actually cradles my neck whether I roll onto my back or my side. It's fiber-filled, so it's soft but still holds its shape instead of going flat by morning.
