Parker Ultra Cover® Natural Latex Ultrasound Probe Covers—30-00

Parker Laboratories Ultra Cover® 30-00 is a flexible, rolled natural-latex probe cover designed to create a disposable protective barrier over compatible medical ultrasound probes and transducers.

The cover measures approximately 1.38 inches wide × 7.87 inches long (3.5 × 20 cm) and is supplied with standard-size elastic bands to help secure the cover during use. Its rolled construction allows the cover to be applied over a compatible probe in a controlled manner.

Ultra Cover is nonsterile and contains natural rubber latex. It should therefore be distinguished from Parker's latex-free, pre-gelled Eclipse probe-cover family.

When Should You Choose Ultra Cover?

Ultra Cover is a practical option when a facility needs a rolled natural-latex barrier for a compatible ultrasound probe and neither a sterile cover nor a latex-free material is required by the procedure, patient, probe manufacturer, or facility protocol.

The most important selection factors are

  • probe dimensions;

  • natural-latex compatibility;

  • required sterility level;

  • whether internal ultrasound gel is desired; and

  • the ultrasound-equipment manufacturer's instructions.

Ultra Cover should not be selected solely because it is less expensive than a latex-free or sterile probe-cover system.

Ultra Cover vs. Eclipse Probe Covers

Parker's Ultra Cover and Eclipse product families serve different purchasing requirements.

Feature Ultra Cover 30-00 Eclipse 38-01 / 38-03
Material Natural latex Polyethylene
Latex-free No Yes.
Sterile No No
Rolled Yes. No
Internal ultrasound gel No Pre-gelled with Aquasonic 100
Sizes One current standard size Standard + wider 3D/4D
Standard quantity 100/box 100/box
Primary selection reason Natural-latex rolled cover Latex-free, pre-gelled configuration

Choose Ultra Cover when natural latex is acceptable and a simple rolled probe barrier is appropriate.

Choose Parker Eclipse Probe Covers when a latex-free, internally pre-gelled cover is preferred or when the wider Eclipse 38-03 configuration is needed for a compatible 3D/4D transducer.

Important: Ultra Cover Contains Natural Latex

Ultra Cover 30-00 is manufactured from natural latex.

It should not be used when the patient, healthcare professional, facility policy, or procedure requires a latex-free product.

For a Parker latex-free alternative, compare Eclipse 38-01 and 38-03 Probe Covers.

This latex-versus-latex-free distinction should be confirmed before ordering rather than assuming all disposable ultrasound probe covers use the same material.

Is Parker Ultra Cover Sterile?

No.

Ultra Cover 30-00 is a nonsterile, rolled probe cover.

Do not treat an individually dispensed or disposable cover as sterile unless its labeling specifically states that it has been supplied sterile.

When a procedure requires sterile products or a sterile barrier, follow the probe manufacturer's instructions and applicable facility infection-control protocol.

Does Ultra Cover Include Ultrasound Gel?

Ultra Cover is not marketed as an internally pre-gelled cover.

That is another important distinction from Parker Eclipse, which contains Aquasonic 100 gel inside the cover.

When an appropriate ultrasound coupling medium is required by the probe or procedure instructions, we carry Aquasonic 100 Ultrasound Transmission Gel in multiple dispensing configurations.

For clinical procedures requiring a specifically sterile ultrasound coupling medium, compare Sterile Aquasonic 100 Ultrasound Gel and follow the applicable clinical protocol.

Why Use a Rolled Probe Cover?

A rolled cover allows the material to be progressively unrolled over a compatible transducer rather than requiring the full length of the cover to be gathered over the probe at once.

The flexible natural-latex material conforms around compatible probe shapes, while the included elastic bands help secure the cover after placement.

The correct fit should always be confirmed for the specific probe rather than assuming universal compatibility.

What Size Is Parker 30-00?

Current product information identifies REF 30-00 at approximately:

1.38 inches wide × 7.87 inches long, or 3.5 cm × 20 cm

Box of 100 vs. Case of 1,200

Package Box Case
Parker REF 30-00 30-00
Covers 100 1,200
Boxes 1 12
Best fit Lower-volume use Routine/high-volume use
Storage requirement Lower Higher
Cost per cover Higher Lower

Facilities using Ultra Cover routinely can lower the effective per-cover acquisition cost by purchasing the manufacturer's 12-box case.

Ultra Cover vs. Sterile Probe Covers

“Disposable” and “sterile” are not interchangeable terms.

Feature Ultra Cover 30-00 Sterile Probe-Cover System
Disposable Yes. Typically yes.
Sterile No Yes.
Natural latex Yes. Product dependent
Appropriate when sterility is specifically required No Depends on device labeling
Best use Procedures compatible with nonsterile latex cover Procedures requiring an appropriately labeled sterile barrier

The required probe cover should be selected according to the ultrasound-probe instructions, procedure type, and facility infection-control requirements.

How many probe covers are in a box?

There are 100 Ultra Cover probe covers per box.

How many are in a case?

A manufacturer case contains 12 boxes, or 1,200 covers total.

Is Ultra Cover latex-free?

No. The Parker Ultra Cover contains natural latex.

For a latex-free Parker option, compare Parker Eclipse Probe Covers.

Is Ultra Cover sterile?

No. Parker identifies 30-00 as nonsterile.

What size is the Ultra Cover?

Current Parker-related specifications identify the cover as approximately 1.38 inches × 7.87 inches / 3.5 × 20 cm.

Why do some medical-supply websites list 2 × 7.1 inches?

Some distributor databases continue to display a legacy or rounded dimension. Current Parker-associated specifications identify 30-00 as 3.5 × 20 cm.

Is ultrasound gel included inside the cover?

Ultra Cover is not sold as a pre-gelled cover.

Parker's Eclipse family is the company's pre-gelled, latex-free alternative.

Are securing bands included?

standard-size elastic bands as included with Ultra Cover 30-00.

Can Ultra Cover be reused?

No. Probe covers should be treated as single-use disposable barriers and discarded according to applicable facility procedures after use.

Does a probe cover eliminate the need to disinfect the ultrasound probe?

No. A disposable cover does not replace the cleaning, disinfection, or reprocessing requirements established by the ultrasound-probe manufacturer and applicable facility protocol.

Which Parker probe cover should I choose if the patient has a latex allergy?

Do not choose the natural-latex Ultra Cover. Consider a suitable latex-free probe cover such as Parker Eclipse when its dimensions, sterility status, and intended application meet the procedure requirements.

What is the difference between Ultra Cover and Eclipse 38-03?

Ultra Cover 30-00 is a natural-latex rolled cover.

Eclipse 38-03 is a wider, latex-free, pre-gelled cover intended to accommodate compatible larger 3D/4D endocavity probes.

Product-use notice: Parker Ultra Cover 30-00 contains natural latex and is supplied nonsterile. Confirm probe compatibility and follow the current ultrasound-equipment instructions, manufacturer labeling and facility infection-control procedures. A disposable probe cover does not replace required cleaning or disinfection of a reusable ultrasound transducer.

Customer Reviews (4.4 / 5 · 5 reviews)

Matthew ★★★★★

The rolled design made placement so much smoother than the flat ones I’ve struggled with before. These are thin enough for clear imaging but strong enough to not tear during a long exam.

Olivia ★★★★★

Finally, a probe cover that doesn't feel like a thick rubber glove; the rolled design made application quick and smooth. The tactile sensitivity is noticeably better than the bulkier ones I've used before.

John ★★★★★

The latex is thin enough for good tactile feedback but still feels durable enough to avoid tearing during use. I appreciate that they come pre-rolled, saving time when setting up for a long scanning session.
